The PowerShot SX740 HS is an ultra-compact camera with a 40x long zoom lens. This optically stabilized lens has an equivalent focal length of 24-960mm. The lens is paired with a 20.3 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and DIGIC 8 processor.
The camera has a 3 inch LCD that can be rotated upwards of 180 degrees. The SX740 HS uses the latest DIGIC 8 processor which also supports 4k Video and burst shooting up to 10fps. PASM lighting modes, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity are also installed.
The camera also has a Zoom Framing Assist feature that is useful for rearranging the length of focal lengths. The price of the Canon PowerShot SX740 HS is also quite affordable, amounting to 5 million.
Superzoom successor camera from SX730 has experienced an interesting update. The SX740 gets the latest DIGIC 8 image processor from Canon which gives the ability to capture 4K UHD video (3840 x 2160) at 30p.
This is the first for the PowerShot compact camera series. Now audio recorded with video is no longer mono stereo. Thanks to the DIGIC 8 image processor, the SX730 is capable of shooting 7.4fps faster bursts with continuous autofocus.
To improve performance, the camera is equipped with a CMOS sensor 20.3 megapixel 1 / 2.3 inch "backside-illuminated sensor. Not forgetting also features a 40x optical zoom lens which is equivalent to 24-960mm or in 35mm terms.
The lens is then combined with a 5-axis image stabilization system. So that the 4K video recorder can be more leverage. In addition, Canon also enhances some parts of the camera such as Dual Sensing Image Stabilization with corrections up to 3.5 stops, EV exposure ranges from +/2 EV.
As well as battery life increased to 265 shots per charging. Unfortunately, this pocket camera still does not have a RAW file format in it. To complete the Canon PowerShot SX740 HS specifications, the camera is equipped with a 922K-dot 3-inch self-friendly tilting LCD that can be rotated upwards of 180 degrees.
Wireless connectivity features such as built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have also been installed, despite the loss of NFC connectivity. Despite some improvements, unfortunately the SX740 HS has no option to change the focus point.
For AF mode you can choose between Face AiAF, Tracking AF and one frame in the center. Because it uses a 40x optical zoom lens, the Canon PowerShot SX740 HS takes a few seconds to start and is ready to use.

Despite the latest generation, not many major changes have been successfully carried out by Canon. But the 4K video recorder feature is very interesting. Where now the vlog activity is a natural thing. Of course these features will certainly be very helpful for users when recording video.
Deleting the SuperFine JPEG compression settings and NFC connectivity makes it less attractive. Seeing this is a superzoom pocket camera with 40x optical zoom capability. Not to mention the electronic viewfinder that still does not exist, there is no raw format shooting, no touch screen is the most basic drawback for the SX740 HS.
But if you are looking for a compact camera that is capable of recording 4K video at an affordable price, the SX740 is the right choice. Talking about the price of the Canon SX7400 HS, this camera is released by 5 million. Cheap enough for a superzoom camera capable of recording 4K videos.
