Some time ago Sony produced a mirrorless camera aimed at professional photographers named Alpha 99 Mark II. This camera carries a 42.4 megapixel high resolution CMOS image sensor and Exmor R rear lighting technology from Sony.
Alpha A99 II is the latest generation of the older version of the A99 that has been developed. The camera has an excellent hybrid phase autofocus system to support fast capture speeds. The AF system has 79 points (all cross types) phase detection autofocus sensor with a total of 399 chip phase detection points.
A99 II is equipped with a 42.4 megapixel CMOS image sensor combined with Exmor R rear lighting technology from Sony. This sensor has a gapless design for maximum light gathering efficiency, and includes a phase detection autofocus chip.
The sensitivity range of ISO100-25,600 is quite standard for such sensors. But you can expand it to settings equivalent to ISO50 and 102,400 if needed. This good camera is also equipped with 5-axis image stabilization that is integrated with the body.
The latest Bionz X and LSI front-end image processor sensors have also been installed to improve camera performance. This allows the camera to be able to shoot continuously up to 12 frames per second by adjusting the autofocus and autoexposure between frames.
This combination is incomplete if it is not accompanied by Hybrid Phase Detection AF. The AF system has high speed and precision that was just developed by Sony.
This makes the A99 II the first full-frame camera from Sony with the 4D Focus AF system. Where AF has 79 points (all cross-type) and a total of 399 detection points for the on-chip phase.
Typically, the camera will operate using 79 AF hybrid points by pairing information from a standalone sensor and the main imaging sensor. But the remaining 323 points can be handled immediately. So you are not limited to points that are shared between standalone and imaging sensors.
Not to mention the revolutionary Hybrid Phase Detection AF system that can capture motion very quickly. Thus making the A99 II capable of shooting images up to 12 fps continuously with accurate AF and AE tracking. Whereas by using the OLED Tru-Finder and LCD monitor, the A99 II is able to shoot up to 8fps.
To view photos of Sony Alpha A99 II, this camera is equipped with a Sony VGA three-inch LCD monitor (640 x 480 pixels). The LCD maintains the A99's three-way articulation mechanism that allows viewing from a variety of angles including in front of the camera.
Unfortunately, this screen still doesn't have a touch screen feature. This LCD gives WhiteMagic RGBW display with a number of points 1,228,800. With extra white dots that allow greater brightness and low power consumption.
As for the recording section, the Sony Alpha A99 II is capable of recording clear 4K video at 100Mbps speed using the XAVS C codec. Unlike some other cameras that are trimmed to the sensor center when recording 4K video, the A99 II uses the entire width of the sensor.
Video recording is also supported by the new 'Slow & Quick' option, which allows the frame rate to be adjusted between 1-120fps. A99 II is a good choice for videographers because it is equipped with various video-centric specifications.
This mirrorless camera also offers S-Gamut and S-Log shooting, which is useful for post-production work on your video. You can take advantage of the clean HDMI output, although there are also other functions such as zebra mode and gamma assist.
As one of the best mirrorless cameras from Sony, don't forget it is also equipped with connectivity that will support you in photography. In addition to support for Bluetooth 4.1, the Sony A99 II also features built-in Wi-Fi, NFC and an HDMI port.

The wireless connectivity feature now uses a Micro Type-D connector that is smaller than the Mini C type connector, and the USB 2.0 port also shrinks to the Micro-B type connector from the Mini-B. The Sony A99 II continues to include Multi Interface Hot Shoe, DC input jack, remote cable jack, PC synchronization terminal, 3.5 mm external jack and 3.5mm headphone jack.
CIPA battery life is pinned, able to withstand up to 490 shots per charge when using an LCD monitor or 390 shots when using EVF. The CIPA battery used is the same type of NP-FM500H lithium-ion battery as the A99.
