In early 2014 Sony released the A5100 mirrorless camera which is the sibling of the A6000. A5100 is equipped with 24.3 megapixels, built-in flash and Wi-Fi connectivity.
To support its performance, the camera is equipped with Fast Hybrid AF for fast autofocus of up to 0.06 seconds. With 25 contrast detection and 179 phase detection points 92% of the image. With these features, how to use the Sony A5100 camera becomes easier.
In addition, the camera is also equipped with a BIONZ X processor. Full HD recording capability is also possible. The camera can record with AVCHD format (60p / 50p / 25p / 24p) including support for XAVC S video format at 50Mbps and HDMI output.
Sony is slowly replacing many of the cameras it once branded with NEX monikers, and the A5100 is a replacement for the NEX-5T. Even though the camera has the same shape as its predecessor, it has many changes.
Sony has installed it with a 24.3 million pixel sensor which is combined with the Bionz X processor. So the results of the Sony A5100 shots have sharp colors. Thanks to the new processing engine, the sensitivity range also remains the same at ISO 100-25,600, even though the number of pixels is increasing.
Another change is an increase in the number of autofocus points to 179 for phase detection and 25 for contrast detection. The AF system is also getting better because the camera uses Fast Hybrid AF. So the camera is able to lock objects quickly up to 0.06 seconds.
The sensor is APS-C size, but has an on-chip lens structure without the same gap as the full-frame A7R. In addition to single AF and continuous AF, A5100 has an Automatic AF mode that can shoot up to 6fps. This is perfect if you are looking for a mirrorless camera for beginners.
This hybrid AF system also operates in Film mode and recordings can be saved in AVCHD, XAVC S or MP4 formats, or on XAVC S and MP4 - simultaneously. Like the NEX-5T, the A5100 has a 921,000-dot 3-inch LCD screen that is touch sensitive and can be rotated up to 180 degrees to take selfies.
The back touch control is quite limited, however, because it can only be used to adjust the AF point or shutter triping. In the connectivity section, the Alpha 5100 has Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity and is compatible with the PlayMemories application.
This can be downloaded directly from PlayMemories from the camera. With the application installed, you can upload it to social media networks. Apart from that you can also control the camera remotely from your mobile or tablet and send images to the device to share online.
With these specifications, the Alpha 5100 is one of the best mirrorless cameras. The color produced from the camera is so bright and lively. You can adjust the color removed directly from the camera by changing the Creative Style.

Here you will find options such as Vivid, Portrait, Black and White, and Landscape. Although the AF speed isn't as fast as the A6000, or even a Micro Four Thirds camera, the A5100 is able to lock targets even in low light areas.
Talking about the price of the Sony A5100, this camera is priced pretty cheap. With just 6 millions, you also have a 16-50mm Kit lens. Very fitting if you are looking for an inexpensive mirrorless camera. Then the mirrorless camera recommendation that suits me is Sony A5100.
