The popularity of DSLR cameras is starting to fade for now. That's because many vendors produce mirrorless cameras that can be said to be better than a variety of things than DSLRs. Ranging from capabilities to terms of compact design.
However, Canon still believes that the DSLR camera market still exists. To maintain a DSLR camera, Canon provides the latest innovation with updates on the EOS 2000D / Rebel T7 with the latest version, the EOS 2000D / Rebel T7. This latest DSLR camera comes with the DIGIC 8 processor, providing features such as enhanced live view autofocus and 4K video recording.
The EOS 2000D / Rebel T7 uses a 24-megapixel CMOS APS-C sensor that is accompanied by an eye detection feature when using Dual Pixel Autofocus (AF) in Live View. With a compact design, Canon can provide what many people want.
Canon EOS 2000D Mark II / Rebel T7 or also known as Rebel SL3, EOS 250D or Kiss X10, depending on where you live. The smallest and lightest Canon DSLR so far, is targeted at entry-level users who want a camera that is more capable than their smartphone. Physically, the Mark II model is almost identical to the EOS 2000D / Rebel T7.
The sensor has the same 24 megapixel resolution as the previous model but comes with the new Dual Pixel CMOS AF3 system and a sensor that includes 88% horizontal picture frames and 100% vertical for Live View autofocus. The EOS 2000D / Rebel T7 is the first Canon DSLR that supports Eye Detection AF with Live View shooting.
Like its predecessor, the new camera is offered in a kit format, bundled with an EF-S 18-55mm f / 4-5.6 IS STM lens. Physically, the Mark II is almost identical to the EOS 2000D / Rebel T7 and is similar in design to other Canon entry-level DSLRs.
The main changes that appear on this new model are upgrades to the DIGIC 8 processor. Canon has also improved AF systems such as the addition of Eye Detection AF for Live View shooting and display peaking in manual focus mode and the addition of 4K video recording.
The main changes to the physical design of the EOS 2000D Mark II / Rebel T7 are the removal of the red-eye / self-timer reduction LED from the front panel and the absence of an AF-assist LED. Although the Dual Pixel AF system is not new, Eye Detection AF must improve its performance for portraits.
This new camera promises direct appearance and video performance that is similar to its predecessor which provides 95% frame coverage. Do not forget the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi features plus the free Canon Camera Connect application for iOS and Android are also installed.
This feature allows easy connectivity with a smartphone that allows images to be sent directly to a smartphone. Canon has implemented a kind of power management system to substantially increase the capacity of new camera batteries. Its CIPA rating is 1070 shots / fill, far higher than the previous version.
The sensor on the EOS 2000D Mark II / Rebel T7 may not be the same as the EOS 2000D / Rebel T7 24.2 megapixel CMOS chip even though the resolution is almost the same. The difference is that there is a new DIGIC 8 Processor.
Canon also provides four JPEG sizes (three of which with two levels of compression) are provided. The raw file is recorded in the new CR3 format which was introduced with the EOS M50. Regular and C-RAW (Compressed RAW) formats are available, with the C-RAW format reducing file sizes by around 40% through lost compression.
The EOS 2000D Mark II / Rebel T7 can record 4K video footage. This is in addition to the Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) capabilities offered by the previous model. The film is recorded in MP4 format with IPB compression.

4K capability is pretty basic, as you would expect from an entry-level camera. The PAL format shooter is limited to the consumer level, a resolution of 3840 x 2160-pixels plus a frame rate of 25 fps. Individual frames can be taken from 4K movies and stored in the camera as an 8.3 megapixel JPEG.
Unfortunately, when recording 4K video, the frame is cropped by a factor of about 2.6 times, compared to FHD and HD frames. This means that the focal length of 18mm is equivalent to approximately 47mm in the 35mm format, so you lose wide angle coverage.
A broad ISO range from 100 to 25,600 (can be expanded again to 51,200) allows you to shoot in various lighting conditions with minimal noise levels in low-light conditions.
Talking about Dual Pixel Autofocus, the EOS 2000D / Rebel T7 can shoot up to 5FPS. You will get 3,975 user-selectable AF points, along with -4EV light sensitivity.
As the latest generation of the 2000D / Rebel T7, the upgrade obtained by the Mark II is quite impressive, especially with the DIGIC 8 processor, live view mode and 4K video recording. This is a weapon that can be used to compete in the market.
With a price of 9 million along with Kit lens, the EOS 2000D / Rebel T7 is in an awkward place. If you prioritize performance, you can add a little to get the EOS M50 with APS-C and with features similar to the EOS 2000D / Rebel T7.
But again, if you need a DSLR camera with a compact design and good features, you can choose the EOS 2000D / Rebel T7 II. This can also be your first camera that is just getting started in the world of photography.
