Price and Specifications of Pentax K-1 DSLR Cameras

Pentax K-1 is the first full-frame DSLR from Ricoh. This camera's full-frame CMOS sensor has 36.4 megapixels without AA filter and is stabilized using the Ricoh SRII Shake Reduction system. This five-axis shock reduction system can reduce camera shake with a compensation range of up to five shutter steps.

SRII also allows PENTAX K-1 to combine other features such as Pixel Shift Resolution. Where these features effectively eliminate moire without the need for an anti-aliasing filter, increasing the overall sharpness and image quality. Interestingly, the SAFOX 12 autofocus mechanism has 33 automatic focus points.

A flexible LCD monitor can be adjusted to the desired angle horizontally and vertically without deviating from the optical axis of the lens. In accordance with the specifications owned, the price of the Pentax K-1 is priced at 28 million for body only. Whereas if the DFA kit lens is 28-105mm F / 3.5-5.6 ED D is 32 million and the kit lens is SMC FA 50mm F / 1.4 for 30 millions.

The Pentax K-1 is a long-awaited full-frame digital SLR camera. This camera brings all Pentax technology including a weatherproof camera body, shock reduction sensors, pixel shift resolution, and more. The camera is also compatible with all Pentax K-mount lenses.

The main attraction of the K-1 is the 36.4 megapixel full-frame sensor. This sensor operates above the original sensitivity range of ISO 100 to 204,800. Pentax has also forgotten the anti-aliasing filter to help capture better details.

Although this model is designed to work with lenses whose circle of images includes a full-frame sensor, the camera can still use DA APS-C lenses. It also has the effect of increasing the maximum burst rate from 4.4fps at full resolution to 6.5fps. Although 4.4fps may sound less good, it is equivalent to other full-frame models that offer the same number of pixels.

K-1 is equipped with the fourth iteration of the Prime machine to handle all operational tasks and image processing. Ricoh stated that this has been designed to handle images with a higher resolution than the previous machine.

The system also ensures that images taken at higher ISO settings still maintain gradations well. Like other Pentax DSLRs, the K-1 is designed with a Shake Reduction mechanism.

This works in the same way as other sensor-based systems that move to resist shocks across the pitch, roll and yaw axes, and both vertical and horizontal shifts. In this case, the Shake Reduction mechanism is very similar to a five-axis system in mirrorus Olympus and Sony models. But this is the first full-frame model that promises 5 stops of correction.

Full HD video recording up to 60fps is also available with manual control over the audio level. The headphone and microphone ports are also available on the camera side. All images and videos are recorded to SDHC or SDXC memory cards, and HDMI and USB 2.0 ports are provided. Battery life is rated at 760 frames, which is slightly lower than rival DSLRs but still much better than equivalent compact system cameras.

Pentax's Pixel Shift Resolution feature seeks to improve color, lack of critical details and other adverse effects associated with demosaicing. This is needed for any image taken using a camera that uses a filter array.

On the back there is a 3.2in size and has a resolution of 1.037 million dots. The LCD is attached to the hinge, which automatically attaches to the camera through four arms. This allows the LCD to be pulled out and tilted up and down. It can even be moved to the side when held conventionally and can also be rotated.

The pentaprism viewfinder offers coverage of almost 100% of the scene, with a frame in the middle to indicate the crop area when using the APS-C lens. As with active focus points, you can set this to always turn on or only if the camera is dark enough to use.

As a full-frame DSLR camera, the camera uses magnesium alloy for its body and is resistant to splashes of water and dust with thick rubber doors that cover the port and freezing up to -14 ° C. It weighs more than 1kg with batteries and memory cards.

The K-1 uses the latest SAFOX 12 auto focus system with 33 phase detection points. Of these, 25 are cross types and are arranged centrally in a square formation, with the remaining line type points on both sides.

In the center of the sensor, it is sensitive to f / 2.8 and works in light as low as -3EV. In its use, 25 central points are sensitive enough to bring most subjects into focus at a fast time. With a 24-70mm lens, focusing performance can work well.

Although it's quite expensive, the K-1 offers a number of unique features for Pentax Digital SLR in Pixel Shift Resolution and in camera image stabilization. To be able to bring this camera home, you have to spend 28 million.

That is the price for body only only. Whereas if the DFA kit lens is 28-105mm F / 3.5-5.6 ED D is priced at 32 million and the SMC FA 50mm F / 1.4 kit is 30 million. This price is quite competitive considering that the camera has a Wi-Fi and GPS feature that can be used for Astrotracer facilities which gives you additional options for Astro astrophotography.

With the Pentax's 5-axis sensor each lens mounted on the camera can benefit from image stabilization, including older lenses. Pixax Shift Resolution mode from Pentax provides better image quality.

This is very effective for producing very detailed images, which will be very useful for still and detailed product images. If you have a collection of Pentax lenses or want a high resolution Digital SLR, the Pentax K-1 offers a very attractive offer.
